2009 TAIPEI CHINESE CULTURE SUMMER CAMP OF ARIZONA

Three teachers travelled here from Taipei, Taiwan to join with our local Chinese School's teachers to teach students Kung Fu, Lion Dance, Chinese Yo-Yo, Folk Arts, Chinese Dance, Chinese Calligraphy & Painting, Paper Foldings, Paper Cuttings, Arts & Crafts, Chinese Dough Arts, and more.

Students participated in a 5 day camp, each day from 8 am to 5 pm. Students participated in a special graduation ceremony on June 26 to display their works, share their accomplishments, and also perform for the parents, school board members, and guests. Additionally, all students received graduation recognition and a t-shirt provided through the summer program.

Phoenix Chinese Week received an appreciation award for their partnership with the program along with many other organizations including the city of Peoria, Mayor Bob Barret, Phoenix Sister City Commission, President Carol Seidberg, and others. It was a successful week of cultural exchange and we look forward to another successful year in 2010.
